  • Overview

    The Director of Finance - Operations will provide direct finance support to the Chief Operating Officer and the Operations Leadership Team. This leader will partner with Senior Leadership team members to develop strategies and tactics to help First Key Homes achieve both short and long term operational and financial goals. Additionally, the Director of Finance - Operations will oversee a team of Financial Analysts that support property operations to ensure their financial guidance provides actionable insights to increase operational effectiveness.


    • Counsel and assist business partners with financial planning, forecasting, and reporting. Consult on financial models, tools, analysis, and reports to ensure they are relevant and convey actionable information.
    • Identify risks and opportunities to management and recommend strategies to achieve company financial goals monthly, quarterly, annually and long term.
    • Lead major strategic and performance enhancement initiatives, special projects and provide financial modeling, financial analysis and valuation support for leasing, construction, property operations, marketing, customer service, and other ad-hoc financial projects.
    • Produce forward-looking, insightful and actionable performance analysis and presentations (standard and ad-hoc) to/and for senior leadership. Provide insights that contribute to the effectiveness in managing and communicating operational and financial performance, opportunities and issues within their functional area.
    • Develop and lead the Annual Operating Plan, Quarterly Forecast and monthly rolling forecast processes for Operations.
    • Develop and lead the monthly Operating Review process for Operations with a focus on operational drivers of financial performance versus Plan and Prior Year.
    • Determine analytical support needs and data required to build reliable metrics, business cases and financial models. Partner closely with Accounting and Business Analytics teams to secure support and data needs.
    • Recruit, train, develop and manage a team of direct reports to achieve departmental and FirstKey Homes goals. Coach and mentor direct reports to enhance their capabilities.
    • Stay current on industry practices and issues, assessing and communicating their potential impact on the business. Recommend and implement updated practices that will enhance FirstKey Homes financial operations.

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent work experience and/or education
    • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience with financial planning and analysis
    • Minimum 5 years of direct experience leading teams to achieve organizational goals
    • Minimum 3 years of experience consulting with Senior Leadership about financial results and leading strategic initiatives.
    • Strong understanding of financial reporting and planning systems
    • Demonstrated success with implementing and improving financial processes and systems
    • High proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)



    • Master of Business Administration
    • Experience working in property management, real estate or similar industry
    • Experience working in fast pace, high-growth company
