    SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    The Senior Corporate Counsel of Acquisitions serves as a primary point of contact to handle purchase sales agreements for acquisition of single-purchased and bulk purchases of residential homes. They will coordinate the purchase sale agreements throughout the entire process from negotiation, to drafting documentation, to closing on properties.  This role will work closely with the Acquisitions team and Paralegals to achieve FirstKey Homes goals of residential property acquisition.

    Responsibilities

     

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Overseeing and coordinating the purchase sales agreements of residential real estate properties from negotiation to final acquisition. This includes single residential purchases from Multiple Listing Services (MLS), bulk purchases which range from 25 to 1,000 homes at time, and handling disposition of real estate properties.
    • Partners with internal business leaders to develop a negotiation strategy to ensure contractual agreements meet FirstKey Homes policies and protects its interests.
    • Facilitating contract negotiations with key stakeholders to obtain required information. Develops and drafts all aspects of contractual agreements for residential real estate transactions.
    • Reviewing listing agreements, drafting and filing paper work, and conveying information to correct entities.
    • Collaborating with Acquisitions team and Paralegals to work through issues and anomalies of single home purchases.
    • Analyzing purchase agreement contracts for special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and corporate policies.
    • Updating key stakeholders on the status of contract and negotiation process.
    • Organizing and maintaining contractual documents according to FirstKey Home standards.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    • Primarily working indoors, office environment.
    • May sit for several hours at a time.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree
    • Minimum 5 years of relevant legal experience
    • Admission and membership to the State Bar Association of Georgia or another state
    • Experience providing legal counsel to support Acquisitions team with negotiating and closing real estate transactions or similar work experience
    • Knowledgeable of legal issues and real estate contractual agreements (i.e.: titles, deeds, commitments, etc.)
    • High proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

     

    PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Experience working in property management, real-estate or similar industry
    • Experience working in a fast pace, high-growth company

     

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
